President's Message - October 2, 2007
I would like to express our sincere appreciation to our immediate Past President Curtis Jones. Curtis has "raised the bar"
for our club. His leadership and organizational skills are outstanding. Thank you, Curtis, for an incredible year! We often
hear the phrase "You've got to get the right people on your bus in order to be successful". I honestly believe that, as a
Kiwanis Club, we have many drivers of the bus this year who have already been working hard to ensure the success of our club.
We also have many Kiwanis members who are active passengers on the bus. These are the individuals who volunteer at our
activities and our events; who take pride in being a member of Kiwanis, and who encourage others in our community to join
our wonderful organization. But is every single Kiwanis member in our club an active passenger or a driver on our bus?
Have some individuals become complacent? These may be long time members who feel they have "been there done that", or they
could be new members who are just too busy to take the time to open their hearts to volunteer at an activity or event.
Today I challenge you to look deep into your heart and ask yourself the following question: what more could I possibly
do to help our Kiwanis Club change the world, one child at a time? Come on! Get on the bus! Enjoy the ride! It's going
to be a FUN year!
